Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and on of Bagan’s most beautiful temples. Built in the early Mon-style, Ananda contains two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the status is viewed.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Yangon arrival & sightseeing (by car)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

Upon arrival at Yangon Interantional Airport, welcome by Shooting Star Travel’s local guide by holding placard which the name on it. Then transfer to hotel for check in.

After check in, visit Chaukhtatgyi (Reclining Buddha) to see see 70-meters long colossal reclining Buddha, visit Kandawgyi Park, one of central Yangon’s greenest spots. Here you will see the glittering Karaweik barge, a replica of the royal barge and the vast lake with views of Shwedagon in the background.

From here, continue to Shwedagon Pagoda the most revered Buddhist temple in Myanmar and one of the wonders of the world. It is belived to have been built more than 2500 years ago. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golden stupa from this vantage point for sunset. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) (by car)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

After breakfast hotel, return to Yangon and on the way visit Bago sightseeing. Firstly, visit the huge four sitting Buddha’s Kyaikpun.(28 meters high huge Buddha Image) and Kyat Khet Wine Monastery, one may observe over 600 student monks having lunch under the way of Buddha’s guidance.

Then continue to Kyaikthiyo, one of Myanmar’s landmark, which is famous for its position and religious importance: Kyaikhtiyo the “Golden Rock “, huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. To reach the pagoda from Kin Pun a steep 11km road leads to the upper staging point by truck. Take a light trekking on the summit through bamboo forest. Enjoy the sunset beauty on the hill top and overnight at the hotel in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 3: Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) – Bago – Bagan (by car & Express Bus)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

After breakfast at hotel, take a half hour walk to small cave. Also stop at the roadside shops for rare product of jungle, Midmorning, drive down to the base camp and return to Yangon.

On the way visit most important sights of this old capital of the Mon People. Visit in Bago sightseeing: Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Hinthargone Pagoda and Kanbawza Thardi Palace built by King Bayinnaung. Then visit in and Shwethalyaung Pagoda (the world’s most beautiful reclining Buddha) and Maha Zedi the Mon style.

Then visit to Chinese Kwanyin Temple and a walk around the colorful Bago Market. Visit also and the huge 4 sitting Buddha’s “Kyaikpun“(28 meter high huge Buddha Image). After that, drive back to Yangon and on the way visit the Allied War Cemetery near Htaukkyan, the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers. In the evening, transfer to Hi-way bus stop for Bagan trip by Express Bus. Overnight in Bus.

Day 4: Bagan full day sightseeing (by car)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

Early morning arrive at Bagan and check in to hotel. After check in, visit to the golden stupa Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction in to Bagan’s rich history.

Then, visit to nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgiy, a cave temple with exquisite jataka mural paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carving and glazed sandstone decorations. This afternoon begin with a visit to a traditional lacquer ware workshop where you can observe the production of one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts.

Continue to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and on of Bagan’s most beautiful temples. Built in the early Mon-style, Ananda contains two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the status is viewed.

From here, visit Thatbyinnyu, the highest temple in Bagan, massive Dhammayangyi Temple, noted for its remarkable brickwork and Sulamani Temple. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 5: Bagan – Mt.Popa - Yangon sightseeing (by car)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

After breakfast at hotel, visit the colorful Nyaung Oo Market where villagers gather every day to buy and sell their produce and other goods. Continue to Mt.Popa, is considered the early font of power for the mystical world of the nats. Climb up Mt.Popa, a perfect place for Eco-tourism, and view the surrounding area. In the evening, transfer to Nyaung U Airport for flight back to Yangon. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

(Optional: Can take the amazing and excellent Balloon over Bagan by seeing over the ancient Bagan Temples or you can watch the sunrise for amazing Shwe gugyi Pagoda)

Day 6: Yangon sightseeing & Departure (by car)

Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhtiyo – Bagan – Mt.Popa – Yangon

After breakfast at hotel, shopping in the Bogyoke Market formerly “Scott Market”, where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicraft, jewelries, fabrics, lacquer wares and so on. (Note : Market is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays)

Depanding on your flight time, visit Kaba Aye (World peace) Pagoda, it was also known as the “World Peace Pagoda” and Mahapsana Guha Cave, where the sixth Buddhist synod took place. Proceed to Kalaywa Tawya Monastery to see the daily life of the monks.

Transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure. If time permit, on the way visit to Kyauktawgyi Pagoda also known as Lawka Chanther Arbayar Laba Muni Buddha Image at Minn Dhamma Hill, there is an Elephant house where the three white elephants are kept.
